I see where a young man was killed trying to get to his wedding while driving his viper.
A dog ran out in front of him and he lost control of his car. The paper said that he was traveling at least 100mph. It happened in Bradenton Fl. What a tragedy and on your wedding day??? |

How truly awful. A grim reminder that high speeds on the street can be deadly, even in the best of cars.

That's very sad. If only the dog's owner kept him in his own yard and didn't allow him to run the neighborhood.

20 year old driver, 18 year old passenger sounds to me like he was showing off big time, lack of being able to keep a cool head in this car can come back to kick your [******]. PLus lack of driver training I'd say as well. Passing then trying to avoid a dog? He shoulda hit the [******] thing head on.
So preventable. |

I agree with you Craig. 100mph 1/4 of a mile from where he was going to get married? Showing off, inexperience, bad judgement. Sad. I'm wondering how he got the Viper at that age.

maybe he has a nice uncle or dad
The thing is responsibility and knwing your limits. I would never drive it that hard, I just don't have the seat time to have the confidence to drive like that and would probably only drive that hard if it were my personal car and I knew how to handle it. For now I'll just cruise. |

That is too sad. Dog or no dog if you can't handle 100mph you shouldn't be driving that fast... though I'm sure the groom, like most in this position, thought he could handle anything...

Did the 18 year old passenger survive?
Let's not forget, all of us (I bet) have has a lapse in better judgement in our hot-rods -> AT LEAST ONCE. Let's just pray for his family & friends. Very sad... |

Very sad...
Bad judgement, shouldn't have been driving any car, not to mention a Viper, if he can't think carefully. Moot point now. Its just sad. Imagine how horrified and saddened the bride feels. |

I agree with you Frank - but at 100mph in an RT/10 - I'd duck if I were you! A 50lb dog head on will hit your windshield weighing over 1000lb at that speed.... ouch!
Best to swerve slightly and clip it off the car. Comes down to instinct doesn't it... but pulling on the wheel in any car is dumb - I did that once when I was drunk and a teenager (good combo) and did my first stint of hell driving along on 2 wheels - man that was a quick way to get sober!!! I corrected it too hard then did another stint on 2 wheels on the other side of the car... then bounced back and forth until I eventually settled back on all fours... went home for a coffee and change of undies... never been tempted to pull on the wheel since ... funny that... but I do like really good brakes and ABS!!! |
