I think they changed the name this year from Z8 to Alpina.

If you go see the James Bond "Tomorrow never dies",you'll see it there!
That's where the car was introduced |

All Z8s now are Alpina. Weird thing is they dropped the 6speed for an auto.

Would ya believe that they dropped the M5 engine also
Its a different engine in there mated to an automatic...It make less power but more torque...Go figure |

Yeah the Alpina Version is the customized version. Alpina got a deal with BMW to produce the Alpina Z8's for them for the year 2003. They changed the wheels, made the car automatic, and changed a few other minor things. Big thing is the automatic for the people that loved the car but hated the 6 speed.

And you can't get the Silver with Imola red interior combo on the last year Alpinas which kinda pissed me off...
Narrows the search for an older one at least (and it'll cost a little less). ![]() |

it could have been also an m1. ultra-rare..
the z8 alpina is a disgrace. it has a reworked 4.6l engine borrowed from the x5 4.6is. also they are all autos. kinda defeats the purpose of the 2-seater sports car. from what i hear they dont sell well at all- i wonder why alex 02 gts few other cars |
