Cool video! My thoughts on the whole thing are that he probably blew his qualifying attempt or had to make changes to the car, so they started him at the back. Either not all those cars were running in the same class, or there are some really crappy cars/drivers being allowed to mix it up on the same track. Did he pass post-race inspection/weigh in?

I wish people would recognize my obvious superiority and move out of the way like most of those other drivers did for him....

I can definitely hear the rear axle whine!

Those "cars" were Marcoses (Marcos? Markai? ...who knows, who cares?)

Its a Marcos and if memory serves me correctly they run Chevy V8's in em....They were plentiful in the FIA GT series. If you think they look funky from the back wait till you see the bulbous front ....

In the video its obvious that that car was in a different class than everyone else on the track...He was faster in the turns and on the straights.....and not just marginally...They could have given him a lap penalty and he would probably still win....

Not diff noise as much as transmission screaming.

Straight cut gears. Instant headache inducer.

Yep. Sequential transmission with straight cut gears.

** Let's not forget Motortrend considered the Mosler a street car, and it had straight cut gears. This was the car that beat the SRT10 in a few contest in one of there 'shootouts'. Can use imagine this whine in a street car? No. That's why the Mosler car they included was a race car - straight cut gears and slicks.

If it were the tranny, then the whine would go up and down with each gear change. However, it is speed-sensitive, which would indicate to me that it is the rear gears.
