It has been around for quite a while. FYI if the safety feature is triggered, it does major damage to the saw. I believe someone said it cost $500+ to repair the saw each time it triggers. Although that is a very cheap price to save a finger.

[begin satire]
Man, that would leave a nasty cut, you could bleed to death. [end satire] signed, "shallow keyboard warrior type who can't say anything positive" All kidding aside, that is truly amazing. The insurance industry should get behind that, it could save them payouts on injuries. That invention is truly a "cut above". yuk yuk

I think it is interesting that they used a weenie for an example of a finger. It's kind of sexual don't you think?

I just go by WEENER.
![]() This is very timely... I'm in the market for a table saw too. Had a mitre saw backfire on me a couple times... scared the crap outta me (no damage other than a fat bruise on my thumb- thank GOD). Where do you buy one? Don't remember seeing it at Home Depot.

Would have been funny if while he's talking and moving his hands about, you realized he's missing a finger or two.
![]() Update. Here's pricing info. $2800... a bit high, but still cheap for a finger or two. http://www.sawstop.com/products-cabinet-saw-pricing.htm

Great invention. Now as for the James Bond films where he is on the table saw bed....well it takes all the drama out of it.
