Rolex's are way overpriced for what they are.

My uncle has a submariner he has promised me for years, but I can't stand it...too heavy. It feels like a bowling ball on my wrist.

Well, I have a Tag Heuer Link Chronograph from 2004 when my son was born. It was the signature watch of Tiger....

Very pretty watch, only doesn't tell time very well..runs slow. It made me late to more than a few meetings, so I complained to the CEO of Tag Heuer in Belgium (if you can believe it) and he had his US marketing head call me to send her the watch so they can "fix it." I was "this close" to hitting it with a hammer...

So far, its been with the US office for about a month now... getting used to not wearing a watch, but I guess that's not practical

Considered a Rolex at the time, but opted for the Tag mostly for looks (I'm so shallow)

Oh well!!!

Peter

Here are a few of my favorite vintage watches from the 1910's and 20's. The one in the middle is a Rolex.

Wrist watches from men were new back in the early 1900's. Typically men wore packet watches but, they came out with the "wrist watch" for men during WWI for the solders.

They keep great time and I'll wear them about once a week.

You have to check out the watches by Chopard. There are Mille Miglia Editions, (The Power Control and The Gran Turismo XL). The strap looks like the tread of a tire. Looks AWESOME!!

Those are all sterling silver and manual winding.
The one on the left is W. Benson of London.
The center one is an all original Rolex which I'm told is very unusual for a watch that old and I should keep it in my family as an heirloom.
And the one on the right has no name on it.

The numbers on the face of the two watches on the sides will glow in the dark. I forget the name of the material they used back then.

Most people don't "get them" because the bands are thin but that's me.

I also drive a Viper and not a Vette or SL55.
