I am trying to bottom pick a local Rochester, NY company. It's a small cap marketing stock Harris Interactive. (HPOL). It's now at it's all time low since it went public maybe 10 yrs ago 1.57 to 1.65/share and is way oversold now. The price is holding now because any selling is panic selling into a guaranteed loss. Revenue is predicted at a loss for this 1/4 because of healthcare sector marketing losses in the USA. 4th 1/4 and next year predicted to return to profitability. This stock has been sold off worse than a bank and is due for an eventual recovery to hopefuly close to the S&P 12 month prediction of $3/share.

I got in from 1.61 to 2.08/share. Anybody feel free to buy large quantities and help keep me from losing my asp!

These are stocks I roll on line. Buy some when their low and put a sell price on them for when they go back up. GM was at $40 last Oct.

I do own some GE also.

Remember when Chrysler was $3 back in the 80's, before WE bailed them out? Who would of bought them back then?
my dad bought 1000 shares!

I wouldnt look for to many stocks...this year for my girls I bought PFE, NL , MYL...may buy some WM for them, they are only 4 & 2 so they have time to grow

Car buyers confidence is at an all time low, people aren't buying any SUVs or anything close to a gas guzzler.. Sure if you think a company that has a negative return over 1 year , 5 years, and 50 years, is a good investment by all means invest your money in it, it aint my money... I'm just trying to help you. There are much much much better stocks out there with ALOT more potential. Everything is cheap now, not just GM and Ford.

What I mean by "What have you got" is, have you got a thought of your own stocks?

OK GM sucks, we got got, WHAT'S GOOD??????????????? in you opinion.
I know you have one of those.

The post is about stock on sale. I pointed out GM and Ford because the hit new lows. Just an observation.

By stock in the discount stores...Dollar General, Wally World, Ollies...funny as it may sound, they seem to be doing quite well with people trying to get the most out of their dollar.

Toyota probably isn't going to do too poorly with people's shift to buy more fuel efficient cars. They're leading the MPG wars right now with Honda in tow.

Stock in MOPED manufacturers too. I see more and more these days.

The US is hurting and it isn't going to get better anytime soon.

The auto companies are going to get worse before it gets better. However, I believe it will get better. Once the economy improves things will turn around for autos.
In the mean time I'm buying energy related stocks. Solar cell manufacturers and the alternative energy sector.

GM up to $12.80 and Ford hit $5.62 today. That could of been a good play for someone with the stones.

I'm not saying the financials are a great place to be, but rather until you see this sector turn around, the rest of the market will remain under pressure.

When things do turn around, those banks that make it will far outperform any of the domestic auto names. Guess I should have explained myself better.

the phrase "10 foot pole" comes to mind on the automakers. for day traders, there is money to be made but you better call the direction correct. i find it much easier to look at the big picture. we all know inflation is here and will get much worse. how do you profit from that? commodities. gold, silver, oil, etc. as for pipe deals, if the stock is unrestricted you can give it a roll but your lockup better be less than a month with at least a 30% discount to deal. this market will get a lot worse before it gets better.
