NOPI cancels all shows for rest of 08', possibly filing bankruptcy

This blows. The economy has a new victim...the NOPI race series, drift series, and show series. This includes the huge Nationals show they would've been in Atlanta in September. According to Nopi, it is due to the economy and all 8 shows being rained out/hampered so far this year. The GA-VCA went to the 1st show of the year back in March and yes, it was definitely hampered by bad weather. Online reports (aka rumors) are saying Nopi is facing bankruptcy or being bought out. The Nationals show hadn't been as good the past couple years, but still fun. We had approximately 15 Vipers there last year and had a great time at the show and hanging out together at the hotel and going out afterwards. We were always treated great by the owners of Nopi, Micheal and Mark Meyers, with preferential parking and other nice perks. Worse yet, no more Nopi bikini contests Here's some Nopi bikini threads from the past:

I also know several Hooters' have/are closing. If the economy is so bad Nopi and Hooters can't stay in business, and Vipers are selling in the $20k's we're screwed

I had already secured my backstage pass for the bikini contests and concerts at the Nationals Show in Sept. from one of the owners of Nopi!

I'm surprised, but thinking back to the last couple years, I'm not as surprised. The crowd and carshow participants last year seemed really low and the hottie count (in the crowd and bikini contest) had definitely dropped. The vendor area which is usually slam packed was FAR from capacity. Back when I 1st started going (2002), you could walk for both days and not see everything. The last couple years, you could see everything in one day. I've seen where there will be a carshow at AMS that weekend, but noway will it even be close to Nopi....even compared to the past couple "bad" years of Nopi.

Dopi isn't a word, but most of your posts include made up words, so we'll let that one slide. This post of yours is actually more understandable than most of your ramblings.

Nopi does cater to the import market in their parts sales, but if you had been to a show recently, you would've seen the contestant cars had taken a big swing towards the domestic market. The NOPI Chic carshow class last year was won by a VIPER. A female GA-VCA member to be more precise Vipers are American made incase you didn't know......
