Iam just now looking at the SLOAN quick load trailer, very light open trailer with front deflector to protect your car from debris....
Iam trying to find a distributor here in Virginia....If no luck,I may even start looking in the used section of the local trading post to find one... Maybe some one else can ring in with more info????? Rick |

The Ridgeline only has a tow rating of 5000 lbs... that's cutting it pretty close don't you think?

A 5000# tow rating is cutting it pretty close. To get the snake and your stuff down to 5000 pounds or less you will require an all aluminum trailer.
Featherlites are pricey but lightweight and look good after years of service. Click on their web site for details at http://www.fthr.com/ Here's a pic of my 17 foot bed trailer: ![]() |

I tow a 20 ft aluminum open trailer with the Viper by a Durango (5.7Ll Hemi). Absolutely no problem. Drops the fuel economy from about 20 (with no trailer) on the highway down to about 14 mpg. That is traveling around 80-85 mph.

I have a Tahoe that I use to pull a 5000 lb boat, and it does it with no complaints at all. Hills and highway are no problem, gas mileage, however, is not very good at all.
I get about 12 mpg hwy when towing. |

Here are a few pics as well. Note, an aluminum open will be 1200 to 1400 kb. Add the car and you are at/near the 5000 mark. Note my trailer uses the aluminum ramps to block the front. The long ramps help getting on the trailer.
No problem for the Hemi though (that thing got a Hemi? Yep). |

That Ridgeline won't do it, not enough grunt or suspension. Add in a few hills and you will wish you had more hp / tq and towing capacity.
With your Ridgeline, you really can't consider anything but an open, aluminum trailer. I've followed Greg (a couple of posts above mine) to Phoenix and to Northern Nevada from so Cal. I tow an enclosed 18 foot Carson Racer Trailer. Dry weight is about 3000 lbs. Loaded close to 7,000 with tires, tools, spare fluids, chairs, ice chests, clothes, etc. My tow rig is a F-250 Superduty with a 7.3 Diesel modded with a Superchips tuner, Banks exhaust and trans go program and intake mods. Greg's little Porsche Turbo Cayene is very fast and really pulls his trailer very well. If you are going to tow an open aluminum trailer, I don't think you can beat it for a tow rig. As you can tell, while we don't quite keep up with the Vipers on these road trips, we normally cruise at 75 ish, no problems up hill or down. You will want to be able to do that. |

Have used a 98 Jeep GC 5.9, 2002 Jeep Overland 4.7HO and have used a Ram SRT10 Quad Cab to tow a Viper on a open 17' Featherlite. Both Jeeps did the Job with little effort including going up and down hills.
The SRT Ram (towing Rated at 7500 lbs) is just outstanding for towing this set-up. The trucks 5400 pounds and massive brakes give real balance making the towing effortless. The Viper motor pulls like a CAT. The Ram has an added advantage of space to carry a set of spare tires without exceeding loading limits. The Ridgeline should be ok for towing a Featherlite, but you will be very close to the rated capacity. Not sure of the Honda's weak link. Jeep GC's can tow 6000 pounds. Get a good brake controller for you tow vehicle. And I do like the image of towing the Viper with a Viper powered Ram QC. |
