cabin heat on srt

what are a persons options for cabin heat on the gen. 3? one of our members asked me today, and I didn't have an answer for him. Might be doin some mods on his 2 cars in spring.

Once I ditched the crossover cabin heat decreased quite a bit.

My Cabin heat on the '03 virtually disappeared when I had Belanger's do headers, high flow cats, and eliminate the crossover pipes with their exhaust. I think the biggest plus was removing the catalytic converter that sits in the footwell though. Plus I gained about 50 hp on the dyno. I have tentative plans to do the same on the coupe.

Just run the AC when the top is down or put the top up and run the AC.

When its hot and I have the top down, I set the controls to recirculate, split betweeen upper and lower vents, and have no problems.

I have run my car over 5200 miles since June 7th, so mine is on the road often.

loosing the seat heater :aka crossover has reuced the cabin heat along w/ side sill temps dramatically.

so, there is no rear o2 sensor like the gen.2's?

Cabin heat on stock SRT is much less than previous GTS. The air conditioning easily controls it. More issue is heat from the engine coming in around the windshield and into the cockpit. I just run the a/c all the time and it is great.

As others have stated, upgrading to a corsa track exhaust make the heat from the interior a non-issue. No need to eliminate cat. One cat will clean up exhaust OK when new, but when it gets some miles on it, the second cat becomes essential to pass emissions.

Guys, you can not remove the rear cats and crossover and expect to pass your state emmission tests if you have one. Also the crossover is used to even out the exhaust pulses and by removing it you will loose a lot of low end rpm torque. We developed a kit that does away with most of the cabin heat when you are driving the car. In our test car with the top up we have had to turn down the ac as it froze us out. The only time you get heat build up with our system is when the car is parked for 1/2 an hour with the top up and the windows closed. Check out our system at the following link:

Not on my car it didn't.

It does help the sound, but at the expense of back pressure. The crossover is located too far downstream to have any real tuning effect.

The track has caused no loss in low end grunt here but certainly the Paxton hastn't hurt either.

For Sure! I spent yesterday in an '05 SRT with Balenger headers and exhaust, (no crossover). Even after four hours of "fun", cabin was cool, and even more impressive, side sills were not even warm.

This is precisely my experience with the Belanger headers and exhaust on my '03. Haven't burned my leg on the tip since it was done.
