Default Still waiting on \'08 details...

Is anyone else suprised that it has been nearly 4 months since the official magazine release/auto show debut of the 600 hp Viper, but we still don't have weight/price or performance figures yet (0-60, 0-100, 1/4mile, top speed? Dealers are accepting deposits, but when should we expect to know more details about the actual car?

What he said. Any info at all on: (1) interior appearance (someone posted a while ago that the two-tone interiors will look like the Mamba edition interiors); (2) pricing/release date of the Mopar performance upgrades featured at the Detroit Auto Show?

JonB posted that CAAP will be "turning the lights back on" in mid-April. Based on past model years, how long has it taken from initial factory production until brochures and dealer pricing are released?

Thanks!

I agree. Dodge should also have one trick left up their sleeve and just release the ACR version. Go the whole 9 yards and dominate. It is what the Viper is known for. Let there be no mistake about it. Vette is second place.

Actually it's not even 3 months yet since the mags released the news (between Dec 26-Dec 28)...

They probably are still working on emissions testing, a lot of new standards went into effect for the '07 model year and beyond.

One dealer today told me today that they were told August is when they could place an order...?

You really have to give Dodge credit for continuing to trump the Vette. Every time the Vette gets close for the last decade Dodge feels the need to reward it's Viper nation with another dominating car. And that doesn't even take into consideration the Comp. coupe and what a bonus that is for Viper racers at all levels.

What does Ford want for their road racer Mustang 225K???

The Viper will always be in a class of it's own regardless of HP. I can't wait to see the options/ colors.

I was told end of May or early June before we can order them?

Chuck, Will you be getting an '08 at your place? We'd love to look at it, see what the hype is, I know we've spoken about this before, but we're still just 'curious' as the others are. thanx~juli~

PS2's in rear 345/30/19's???? If THOSE were available, we'd have gotten them wayyyyyyyyy before now...still don't see them listed on Michelin's site...anybody know about PS2's coming out for size 345/30/19's????? We've been waiting forever for PS2's to replace the run-flats....anybody with any news would be appreciated....we also want to look at the '08 ourselves too, wondering what the tests will show it can do (0-60, 1/4mile---REAL tests)...

Yes.. Luke from the Tire Rack told me last friday they are now in the USA and will be available for purchase in the next week or so. The PS2 is now showing in the available size shart on Michilans site but not with the vehicle look up feature. Im buying a full set and look forward to seeing how these hook up vs. the run-craps.

Shandon -- thanks for catching this. Based on (1) a late March/early April avaialbility of the PS2s, (2) a previous post by JonB that the CAAP assembly plant will start up again in mid-April, and (3) a post by a reputable Viper dealer (Viper Wizard at Tator I believe?) that orders would be accepted as early as May, it looks like a reasonable estimate for delivery of the first cars might be July/August? Still largely speculative but fun guessing nonetheless.

Yeah, just been myself calling local Michelin tire dealers, and none of them have PS2's in 345/30/19 in their system yet...one guy is going to call me back a bit later, he will see when they will be available for purchase. WAITING forever for these!!! Seeing as they'll be on the 2008, they've gotta be available anytime now...will post when Michelin guy calls me back ~juli~

Okay, Michelin says the PS2's are 'still in production' as of 3/20/07, and will be available for purchase 6-8 weeks from now. Must coincide with the '08 Viper release maybe? ANYway---we will be getting those tires as soon as we can...unfortunately, not now, but can't get the car out anyway now!! SALT!!!
