I have a 2003 SRT10 with the RB1 installed with the iPod adaptor. Now I want to install Sirius Satellite.
I found that I need the following: Part no. 8220-7925 - Installation Kit Part no. 8220-6488AB - Satellite radio module The price of the Kit is $154, but the satellite module is $474. Is this what everybody else is using? Is it cheaper else where? Thanks for any help. |

I went to Circuit City with my XM radio and remote---they have a kit to install the satellite radios. I think it was about 200-250 dollars total. I have it on the left side of the windshield in the lower corner. Out of my line of vision while driving. The antenna is on the dash so no holes were drilled. Hardly can be seen from the outside since the left A piller is blocking it. John

if you buy the mopar parts you can shove them all the way behind the radio and mount the antenna on top the the heater duct under the dash pad(yes the reception works fine.) look for some post by me from a few years ago for pics

I put my antenna in the defrost vent on the dash. I just put in a dodge ipod unit in my buddys 05 and put it in the same place.

You can also get one of the 2008 on ebay with gps/sirius ... seems like a great excuse to add to the stable!

I paid $75 for the Sirius Radio kit. I hard wired it into both my Stealth and my Viper. Subscription fees were $295 or so (with $75 gov fee) for only 2 years. I also wrote an Illustrated Upgrade to show where it's mounted. This unit uses the
fm transciever and it wasn't worth the money to buy the 'correct' unit for hardwiring just so that I could control it from my stereo. Wife cancelled her Sirius and bought an ipod for a lot less money and that hooks right into my stereo. My Bluetooth Premiere stereo also comes with the ipod cable which I also mounted into the glovebox. Look in the Illustrated Upgrades forum. Ted

Thanks, that is the answer I was looking for and suspected. Is it secured in place at all? Does it need to be by way of rattling or noise if it isn't?

I put some foam on the part that is facing down. The satellite radio receiver is in there real tight i don't think it is going anywhere.

If you're rattling question was referring to #5 just use a zap strap. If you're referring to #9 I used short screws into the lid, but the bracket could just as easily be glued, even with Silicone.
