Default 08' ACR paint scheme question

A lot of the 1st ACR photos I saw look like this (sides of the car a different color than the center of the car):

But all the pics of actual delivered ACR's look like this. Solid car with or without a driver's stripe.

Can you not buy an ACR with a paint scheme as in the 1st picture? I guess if you win the raffle you can have it painted that way, but is it not an option to buy one that way? If I had the spare $100k, I'd definitely want a paint job like the top version!

It will come 2 tone (Black & another color), if you order other than a Black ACR. i.e. Viper Red would have the black center like you would have seen in the orginal internet pictures.

Thanks for the clarification! I guess all I've seen is black ACR's. Is black the only color out so far or is noone ordering the 2 tone version?

Chad, as said above they all come w/black hood's like the original red/black car in the magazines and raffle. You can delete the black out hood and its a "credit" on the sticker for about $500-$600. A black ACR has a lower base sticker price because they figured the 'credit" into the price. There are many ACR combinations, solid, soilid w/red drivers stripe, solid with a number of dual stripes, etc.
Take a look at the SRT site for examples. I'd suggest that you take a look at the Kelley Blue Book site (kbb.com) and use their new vehicle configurator. It's a good tool, shows pricing as well as what combinations can be built. Mike

Chad, I think you have a very valid question. According to Lee, only about 100 2008 ACRs are going to be built. I am sure red cars and black cars will predomiate the color choices. I guess you will have to ask Dodge.

Some incorrect information above. Take a look at the actual color chart. They DON'T all come with black center sections. You can order a monotone color or a monotone color with DUAL stripes. The ONLY way you can get the red, (ONLY RED, no other colors driver stripe) is to order an all black car or the bright red car with center black section. AND neither of those will allow a two tone interior either, just plain black.
And I don't think there is a "credit" system in play. Monotone is one price, upgrade to black center section is an upgrade, ugrade further to red drivers stripe ($1600) upgrade further to dual stripes ($3000) Per the chart you can only get dual stripes on a monotone car.
I have a black ACR car with dual redstripes and there is no credit on my sticker.

section, upgrade firter $16

On the dodge website they show a credit of around $500 for the two tone delete. I only did this building a black car.

Latest estimate from a VERY knowledgeable source is 150. As to what we are seeing the colors we are seeing you need to look at the color production schedule. Remember Venom Red, GTS Blue and Snakeskin Green were no longer being made when ACR Production started. Black, Bright Red and Violet were up next, there were delays with violet, just ask the guys still waiting. Orange and Bright Blue were the last on the list... So naturally we are seeing Black and red. Many more black because it was first.

Lee, my information comes from Kelly, here's what they say;

"ACR" Coupes w/out black exterior In the package description it says at the end "models w/out black exterior color-PX3 Includes all model equipment plus two-tone black center band". MSRP $12,050.00

"ACR" Coupes w/Black Exterior color PX3 MSRP $11,475.00

"AP6" Center Band Delete, Two-Tone Black $ -575.00

My understanding is that the two-tone black is standard, and you can use the delete credit option. If you look at the picture you posted from Dodge, every ACR color is availabile in the black two-tone. Mike

Except obviously black, so how would they "credit" black if it that combinationif was not offered? I will look at my window sticker again though, that's for sure. And the ordering may have changed, my car was the second car to arrive at Woodhouse and was ordered the day the ACR was announced.

Lee, If you order black, the ACR option MSRP is $11,475.00 vs. $12,050.00 for the other colors (black ACR's get the $-575.00 credit via a lower MSRP option price).

But, if you were to order a solid red ACR, for example, the MSRP would show the ACR package at $12,050.00 then the sticker would also show the "AP6" option which is a credit of $575 bring the net back to $11,475.00, the same as a black ACR

If you look at the order code description for '08's, the ACR package includes the two-tone black "center band" (except for black).

Great question: so for the raffel when I win ... if I get two tone the center is black and black only. The Driver Stripe can be any color and the rest of the body can be any 09 color ...

Is that correct?
