This isn't the old story about a guy who just paid for his Viper, and a new kid working there was supposed to take the car to get washed and filled up, took a joy ride, and ended up wrecking the car?

I heard about this a few years back.

Snaped? Looks like a hard bite especially if you had to pay for the damage!

These pics are from XVipers. Michael probably knows the story behind this Viper.

My old 650 hp Gen 2 was much more predictable to drive than my 08 because of where the powerband was .So many 08 have been wrecked (ESP IN THE COLD WEATHER )because the car makes nothing untill 4500 RPMS then its all over the place.ANYONE not used to 630 plus horsepower (once again esp in the cold weather )that thinks they can get in a GEN 4 for the first time ever and floor it has another thing coming to them.

Heck, you dont even need to floor it in the cold with an ACR...its like running on ice at part throttle!I drove our the other night at 38 degrees in the dry and almost lost it...and I think I can drive!?!?

My ACR manual recommends not driving the ACR if the pavement is colder than 50 degrees.

Now someone tells me...I went to the store the other night, and giving it maybe 1/3 throttle in 2nd gear at 40 I fish tailed it left/right 3-4 times before I just stood on the brakes and let the ABS stop the car. I was thinking hell, I will be the first guy to wreck an ACR- and only 20 miles on it! IF it ain't 60 degrees it stays in garage from now on.

Basically if its cold out i cant go anywhere over 3500 rpm without the car being all over the place. My old modded Gen 2 was probably slightly more powerful BUT was far more predictable because the powerband was alot lower in the rpm cycle.

Not me! When it's cold out it's just like having more horsepower - that's all. Weeeeeee!

Correct procedure: Take foot off accelerator. DO NOT break hard.

Those sticky tires on the ACR are like rocks in cold weather, much worse than regular street tires
