Hello, I'm about to run out to pick up some Mobil 1 to change the oil in my 96GTS. What type/vis. of Mobil 1 should I get and will a good FRAM filter be fine for her?

The O-ring rubber seal on the top of the Fram filter is held in place by either four or six tabs - it can and will blow out.
The Mobil 1 filter - the seal is held in place with metal around the entire edge if the seal.

The Fram has less filter material than Mobil 1 filter - hold one of each in your hand - Fram is larger filter but much lighter.

I have been told, use of non-factory recommended filter will void your warranty - not sure if that is fact - why risk it for a few bucks

Our Viper tech - Ted May - recommends 15-50 weight Mobil 1 for vehicles running the track

On second thought, maybe I won't. You would think that the factory filter would use good quality material and be engineered properly. Guess not.
