Since our engines are pretty much all aluminum, has anyone taken the time to polish some of the parts, like the intake plenum as a way to dress up the engine compartment? If so, any pictures to share? Pretty hard to beat the stock look in some ways, but curious if anyone has come up with something out of the ordinary that looks good.

You shouldn't chrome any part of the engine, since it actually retains heat. Polishing I think is OK, but the plenum is hard to do and I think its magneseum in earlier years like mine. If you do polish, you're married to it...if a drop of water falls on it, it stains it, unless you clear coat it. I'd leave it as is really.

A friend of mine polished his intake and it was a disaster - it kept turning milky-looking. Not a good idea.
