Looks like a Roots type system. They make good low end power. Doug Levin Motorsports is designing a DIY supercharger system for both the Vipers and Vettes that should be available soon. That should be interesting.

I've seen a few superchargers, but never one
driven from behind as this appears to be. What
are they using to drive the supercharger ?

See the shaft on the side running from front to back.
