First of all, when do you lose "newbie" status?
In other words, when does the first "season" end?

Secondly, how exactly do you guys insert those excerpts
from other people into your own post. i.e. picking out
a certain phrase so everyone knows what you are responding to?

Its the reply with quote button below. the one with the page with red arrow pointing to the right and says quote to the right. works like a champ.

You answered your first question with the second. Only after you learn all the little subtleties of the board will you be considered one of us... hehehehe...

Seriously though Newbies are only really defined as those who ask the unending questions such as "How fast does a Viper Go?" or "Who has the highest miles?" or "Who is the youngest/oldest Viper Owner?" and our personal favorite "I know this [insert choice wannabe car here] that can kick a viper's ***!"

If you really want to earn brownie points ask questions that either hasn't been asked before (or for quite a while) or stir up a really good argument.

On a personal note - I think this question is a good start...
