I might be in, are you planning on going? It is a longer drive for me from the L.A. area. This track is by Auburn, isn't it?

No, the track isn't anywhere near Auburn. It's off I 59 north of Birmingham. From where you're located, it's about a 4 hour drive.

If the weather's good, however, it'll be worth the trip.

You'll leave Birmingham at milestick 138 on I-59 where I-759 and I-59 split. Steele is at the 174 milestick so it's about 36 miles. The strip is less than a mile from the off ramp.

There are several good motels in the area.

I've been several times and, while I don't race, it's always been an enjoyable afternoon.

Well guys, I will have to check on this tomorrow. Its seems that the 'internet gathering is changed to Saturday' and the track is still open Sunday. Originally all of the guys I new were going and didn't know about the internet gathering. It looks like if the track is open Sunday .....that may be when my group is going. I will find out more tomorrow....Sorry for the confusion.

Update from the track:

i just called the track and they are saying ...... FRIDAY night MIDNIGHT MADNESS ..... 10pm till 1am , SATURDAY internet gathering and test in tune .....9am till 5pm , SUNDAY TEST IN TUNE 1pm till DARK ! .......... $10 each day to get in the gate , race for free !!!!!

Don't know which day I will go....looks like most of my crew is going Sunday.
