I thought is was the GREEN wire to be grounded...got a copy of Andy Levitt's post from Nov 2000(he's Va/Md Pres) noting you need to resync fobs;

1) remove left knee panel

2) locate dark green wire near right side of steering column

3) turn ignition to "on" position

4) connect green wire to ground

5) press buutton(S) on transmitter(fob) to set code(if there is a second transmitter, it has to be set at this time)

6) disconnect green wire from ground

7) install left knee panel

Good luck !!

I recently purchased a wrecked '94 Viper. The battery has gone
dead. I read in the owners manual that now the security system
will have to be disarmed before the car will start. I did not
get the key fob to disarm the system. The dealer says I have to
bring the car to them so they can program a new transmitter.
I must be able to start the car in order to repair it. Is there
a way to override the system ? Or can the receiver be removed from the car and taken to the dealer and have the new transmitter programmed to the receiver ?
