I posted some of this imfomation last night! According to"DC" quote "SOME 2001 Dodge Vipers have experienced low engine oil pressure at low mileage. This also includes Viper "Crate Engines". Dealers are requested to perform the following Procedure on ALL 2001 Vipers in dealer inventory. Also, this service should be performed on any sold 2001 Viper or recent Viper "Crate Engines" intallation when the owner complains of low oil pressure or unusual engine noises, and the vehicle has less than 1000 miles."

Parts Required:
[1] 05281090 oil filter
[10] P5007324 oil, Mobil 1 [synthetic] 10w-30

Repair Procedure:
1. While monitoring the instrument panel oil pressure gauge, run the engine at IDLE for 30 minutes. this will ensure that the engine and coolant are at normal operating temperature.

NOTE: DURING THE 30-MINUTE ENGINE IDLE, THE OIL PRESSURE MUST BE MONITORED AT ALL TIMES. IF THE OIL PRESSURE DROPS TO 10 PSI OR LOWER, IMMEDIATELY STOP THE ENGINE AND CONTINUE WITH STEP 2.

2. Change the oil and filter.
3. Start engine and ensure engine oil pressure is the normal
range.
