I changed the oil in my 2000 GTS the other night. Service Manual says 10 quarts with filter change. Now I know that some oil stays in the cooler, and with about 8 quarts put in, the level is right in the middle of "safe" mark. I am assuming that this would mean I could add 1 qt. and 1 qt remained in the cooler?

I installed a 2000 MY 10 quart pan on my 99 and found that it holds ten quarts. This excludes oil in the cooler or filter.

One other thing, make sure the car is level when draining the oil or you may end up leave 2 quarts behind.

I did drain it while car was level...then started the car and let it run for a couple minutes. then, after sitting overnight, it was just below the center of the safe mark on the dipstick. Joe...the pan itself holds 10 quarts?

OK Jon-
I installed the upgrade pan, windage tray, gasket kit I got from the Parts Rack, over the weekend.
What do you mean by: "Complete upgrade kit $549. Trap-door baffles and lazer-cut tray $349 addtl. $399 alone."

Was there something else I needed to buy for the '96 oil starvation upgrade"???
Just trying to clairfy.
PBR
