Hard to argue with Tom. But, I have the 3.45's, and have been told the 331's are optimum for 1/4 mile. Good luck with your choice!

Another opinion - 3.45's are to high (numerically). With a 5800 rpm setting on the window switch you are too close to the window switch accuation at 135-137 mph. The max safe gearing is going to be 3.33. By the way, take a look at Tom Welch's times with 3.07's when he didn't have the gas adder and head work, he was turning low ten's. That was basically a stock engine with N2O and 3.07's.

Depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want a 9.90- 10.0 car I would say a 3.45 gear. Great for the street and motor. If you want to go a little faster on nitrous I would do the 3.33 gear.

From a daily driver standpoint with NOS I preferred the stock 3.07 gearing. I started with an NOS brand 150 shot, then got 3.45's and then went to an NX 300 shot which really stressed traction badly. Finally after going to the Turbo's I went back to stock gears and although I am not a common visitor to the track, I do not think I would ever go back to higher (numerical) gearing.
