I used thermotec sheeting just in case.It is adhesive coated on one side,fiberglass cloth in the middle and bright aluminum foil on the outside.Comes in 2ft by 3ft sheets.Didn't cover the whole starter.Just the areas facing directly to the header.I did this to everything facing the headers since the stock heat shields didn't fit.Tends to curl up at the edges but you can tack it down with 3M super weatherstrip adhesive. Just be real careful with the aluminum side touching the positive lug terminals
on the starter - it'll scare the bejesus out of ya if you get sparks and remote
start your car.
