on those 96-97 blue/white GTS, are those white stripes painted on or they are decal then clearcoat over?? dealer told me they are decal with clearcoat, and i was looking at the stripe corners and edges, and i think they are right, decal with clearcoat.....

The panels are completely painted with the base color and cleared, the stripe location is marked (located via laser guide lines) and the paint under the stripe location is lightly scuffed (not to primer). The stripe only is then painted with the base color and cleared, after the baking process the stripe is lightly sanded with 2500 grit paper and polished.

The ridge of the stripe has a dimension specified by Dodge. Never was a GENII factory stripe a decal.

Your dealer is probably getting confused with the '96 RT/10's (white w/blue stripes, and black w/silver stripes), which, I believe, were the only year that the factory used vinyl/decal striping with clear coat on top.
