Sills / Rocker panel repaint help

[FLX109]

I purchased some 94 Rocker panels that are in good condition, no problems with rivets or corrosion yet, but I am going to paint them and go to side exhaust on my 96 GTS, what should I do before I paint them? Remove rivets? replace with what? anybody have picture or information where to get them or how to do this
