Anyone know if the 97 engine has a knock sensor. I'm running 14:1 A/F mixture, and I'm a little worried about getting on it too much without a knock sensor. Thanks.

lol, nope, as NO viper has knock sensors from the factory.. unless the srt-10 does, but I am pretty sure they dont either.

What mods do you have? you can change that with a vec1.

Actually, I've heard that Skid Roe is no longer offering the VEC 1 - a convenient way to price differentiate by forcing the upgrade to a VEC 2.
Anybody heard of these guys - looks like they have what essentially amounts to a VEC 1.

Marv - are you saying that the dangers of running lean are only present with the lower gear set? Why, due to the increased likelihood of running at higher rpm? That doesn't seem like it would be a significant factor - running at 2800, rather than 2000. When you go WOT with either gear set, you are likely going above 5000 anyway.

How can you upgrade to a VEC 2 if they are not available for sale without the blower?
