When putting down the top the trunk will not close... The latch behind the drivers seat is locked. Am I missing a step? I did not close the trunk hard. Maybe I should be using a little more force? Any comments appreciated...

Sometimes it takes 2 -3 times to shut mine and stay shut. With or without top up.If you drop trunk lid with a little pressure from center mine will latch 1st time.I think it is really air tight.Just my two cents

I've found it necessary to walk around the car and push down on all parts of the top when first folded back before closing the trunk. Even so, the trunk always pushes on the top a bit too when it shuts.

Yep, got to walk around and push this thing down before closing the trunk, then I just let the trunk fall from up high. It still compresses the soft top.
