HAs anyone installed an aftermarket gauge in place of the voltmeter

If anyone has installed an aftermarket gauge in an exising oem gauge well, does the dash have to be removed. I was thinking about removing the voltmeter and replacing it with an aftermarket gauge.

I replaced the voltmeter with another OEM temperature gauge that monitors oil temp. You have to take off the dash cover to get to the two arms attached to the gauge.

It's easier than it looks. Remove screws from the knee bolsters, the ashtray center section, and then the top of the dash is all spring clips (pull directly out a little firmly.)

I've replaced all 4 of my gauges with Autometer Phantom units.
