What will change for the \'06 vert? Is a body style change likely ....

Asked this question on another site w/out much luck.

Does anyone know what changes are in store for the '06 vert? And poss when is a new (vert) body style change bound to occur?

My delimma is buy a '05 cheap now, seems to be lots of cars out there.
Or, buy a '06... but I dont want a surprise of a new model the VERY next year ('07).

Appreciate comments, I am a Vette guy making the leap.

Other than getting the Coupe's revisions (new wheels), it's unlikely that there will be any major physical changes to the convertible SRT-10 Viper. Unless you count the upcoming new Copperhead color. ;)

I really like the new wheels, but I never cared for the current ones so I'm biased! However, if you want to do a wheel switchout on an '05 it could cost you thousands so maybe it's worth it to wait?

Look for the next major body change about 2012-2013. The Viper lifecycle is around 10 years IMO.

Re: The wheels.. what will they look like?

I wouldn't be too concerned about missing out on a body style change in 2006. I would be more concerned about missing out on a HP change in 2007...???

Outlaw, is that a guess on the HP increase?

...as good as anyone else's. There will always be a change just on the horizon no matter how long you wait.

That's certainly a guess on my part.

The point I was making is that I wouldn't be too bummed out if I missed a body style change however, I would be bummed out big-time if I missed a HP change.

My 2c, I do not believe a hp gain is due for atleast 3 to four years..

I for one would be hot as hell if DC increased hp in 07, especially after purchasing the 06 coupe...but, hey that is a DC call, but buying any other Viper after that, is of course, my call...

BTW, the SRT/10, would still be built in 06 as well, correct?

06 will be 600 hp....advertised as 500, but put one on a dyno and we shall see :headbang:

Why wait? with the Paxton supercharger add on you can start enjoying the snake now. Mine is at Doug Levin Motorsports at this time; I poundered the same question. Even with a conservative stage 1 DLM SC you can get 600RWHP.
