Born on date for tires?

I thought I read somewhere that there is a "Born on date" printed on the sidewall of the pilots, but I can't remember where on the tire this is or how to decode it. Anybody know what I am talking about?

Find DOT on the sidewall of your tire. Next to it will be a four digit number in a box-like moulded stamp. The first two numbers will be the week and the last two the year. For instance 4004 would be the 40th week of "04. Greg.

So I found the DOT on the sidewall and some box-like stamp, but the numbers I found are a bit confusing. Can someone help me with them?

looks to me like you have thw wrong #'s

Looks like two of your tires were made pre-2000 which would only have a 3-digit number. First two are week, last one is year. 419 is 41st week of 1999.

I wouldnt drive ******* tires anymore than 5-6 years old, and thats pushing it.
