Fuel Gauge Inop.

Anyone encountered a problem with an inoperative fuel gauge? The car was involved in an accident and now the gauge reads full at all times. Tried filling and moving and turning to move the fuel around hoping to correct with no luck. Is there a fuse maybe I should be looking for? Didn't see anything obviously disconnected. Trying to avoid drilling all the rivets out to get to the tank and sending unit. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Very possible its gonna be in the sending unit. Was the car hit in the front or the back?

Front...and I believe the tank was fairly empty when it was hit. Hoping it's not the sending unit. It's an '02, keeping my fingers crossed.
