Pompano Beach, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2006) – Autohaus Motorsports and Dodge Motorsports have announced that 2004 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Champion Tommy Archer will take a run at the 2006 SPEED GT Drivers’ Championship in association with Autohaus Motorsports.

“We are excited to finally begin an association with Dodge Motorsports,” Autohaus Motorsports Executive Director Peter Lockhart said. “To be able to do so with the experienced and very successful Tommy Archer immediately gives us a boost in ensuring that Autohaus Motorsports will be a competitive force in SPEED GT.

“Year after year SPEED GT continues to grow in stature, and our stated objective this season is to help Tommy win the 2006 Drivers’ Championship and Dodge Motorsports the Manufacturers’ title as well.”

After winning the Drivers’ Championship in 2004, Archer finished second in the Championship standings in 2005, just six points away from a second-consecutive title. The Duluth, Minn. driver said that the chance to represent both Autohaus and Dodge had him ready for the upcoming 10-round SCCA SPEED GT season.

“I am extremely excited for Autohaus Motorsports, Dodge Motorsports and SRT to have put together this program,” Archer said. “It is a great feeling to be the driver chosen to represent both parties. Along with my sponsor c3controls, we should have a great time chasing the Championship.”

Dodge Motorsports Director John Fernandez said that Archer’s addition to Autohaus had the potential to be a productive one for both sides.

"It's great to hear that Tommy Archer will be back in a Viper,” Fernandez said. "Not only does Tommy bring the experience and capability to win another SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Championship, but he's now part of the Autohaus Motorsports team, which is capable of providing him a Championship-winning car to get another title.”

David Ford, Autohaus Motorsports Technical Director, echoed that sentiment and said that both sides looked forward to working together.

“Autohaus welcomes the chance to partner with Dodge Motorsports as a "factory backed” team and looks forward to the additional technical support which will enable our engineers and staff to push the team and Tommy to the front.”

Autohaus also thanked its additional partners who continue their support. Those sponsors include Alcon, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, BBS, Hoerr Racing Products, JRP, Motec, Moton Suspension Technology and Performance Friction Corp.

The SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Championship begins March 15-17 at Sebring International Raceway, in Sebring, Fla. For more information, visit www.world-challenge.com.
