oil drain plug and differential drain plug

im trying to break the drain plugs.. other than pull harder are there any tricks to getting these things to turn ??? i have tried and tried and just dont want to screw anything up... any tricks or better tools other than the obvious hex wrench and socket ??

Get a six point socket 1/2 inch and it will get it off.The six will help not to round it off.If this don't work get a small cheater pipe.
