Since I cant read the auction descriptions, are some of those custom paint jobs (painted emblems/designs on hood) or are they actually how the cars were produced overseas?

Also-why is 1993 stamped on the box of the white/blue RT/10? Its obviously a 96' model. Are they all like this or does he have the wrong box?

I think they were all like this.... the date on the box isn´t always right.

Most of the models are custom paint.... the rims were orinally unpainted.
But other cars are all original... like the car seen above.

I was gonna go for it until the bidding got up to 40 euros. I just collect for the fun of it. I dont worry much about having all the rare expensive models. Well, except for the $72 I shelled out for my 1:18 red/yellow BBurago, but that was a special situation :)

Someone wanted it badly... the bidding ended over 50 euro´s!

Baz, now you know the waiting was worth it......

Very rare model. Seen these go for $200+ when the market is hot. I think at $75US they got a deal. They could put it on the US eBay and get more.

I was told by some guys on here that the 1:18 McViper has been known to sell for $200+ on US Ebay when the market is hot as well. Thats why I didnt feel too guilty about spending $72 on it. I didnt spend $72, I "saved" $128 :)

I have 3 rooms in the house filled with these things. I lost track long ago of what I have, but I think I have most if not all colors produced in many sizes.

No. We were joking. They are worth $20 each. Where do I send my check?

I think you're safe Jon. Ive never seen true Gen 1 cars go for nearly as much as the 96' RT/10's. I dont know why but the 3 96 RTs always seem to have a lot bigger premium on them.

I dont think I've ever seen a model like yours. A good idea is to get a really nice photo of your car and then have it blown up to poster size. I paid $25 for a 20x30 poster of my car from Wolf Camera

Wow $200! That much? What would the 1:18 SMS Viper cost on the US Ebay forum?

Way too much. See the thing was, when the economy was really really strong a few years ago, model cars were going for insaine amounts. Now they have calmed down but it seems that after everyone got their tax returns, the prices went up again. When I had these SMS models; I had one of each. I sold one on eBay and the other outside of eBay and got $500 a peice. They were truly a great model and VERY VERY RARE! Only 100 of each were made and they were never sold in the USA.

I see you have the TV series Defender as well.... does anyone know if this car was sold as a 1:18 model?

To my knowledge, no. But PM F355. He used to be in the business of selling model cars. He'll know more than I do

These were never made BUT there is something that was made in 1/18 scale. It was the Model Radio Control car. Since they never made a acutal 1/18 model I went and purchased the R/C car and display it as a model. Those are also very rare and hard to find but they pop up on eBay once in a while. If you get it for less than $50, TAKE IT. They have no stated value. Every one listed sells for something different. I think I have seen them go for $200+ but I do not think they are that high anymore but who knows. The good old Supply vs Demand issue. Good luck with your search.
