You know how people list their Viper for sale, "no stories."

Well this Viper has one.

For 9 years my 1995 RT-10 has been my daily driver. Today it left me.

I don't think too many Viper owners can say their Viper was their only car, for that many years.

Over the years I have moved the car with me from Orlando, to California to Maui to Oahu, and back to California again!

I bought it from a small dealer, near the Sebring race track. Tom "Flash" Gordon a MLB relief pitcher had traded it in, for several pickup trucks for his family. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/4279/

I had towed two cars down from Orlando, to trade in, for the Viper -- a '65 Mustang and a '84 Vette. I had the tow truck, so I thought, why not tow the Viper back? The dealer asked where I would like the wheels. I said, "I prefer them to be on the car!" He said, "No, this car came with an extra set of wheels!" They had no need for them. :D Well they were 5 spokes, with gold nuts on them. I promptly sold them for $1,800. Nice deal. :2tu: Thanks Flash!

Orlando taught me, how to waterproof my Gen 1. ;)

I also talked a Orlando Dodge Dealer into buying the hole-in-one insurance for a golf event I set up in 1998 for the club. ($750) Ex father-in-law missed it by a foot. The shot never left the pin. It was for a brand new GTS.

Hawaii was a blast. Two Islands to play on! Lots of fun roads. All the locals loved me. They always shouted, "Hey Bud." ;) ( Let's see how many of you pick up on that.)

How many of you have driven a Viper to the top of a 10,000 ft Volcano?

Califonia twice. ( With the move to Hawaii in between.) It's just an awesome place to live and own a Gen 1. Nothing like crusing the coast with your top down! :headbang:

Got to star in it's own commercial!

Got to meet the new owner, who flew in from Houston to pick it up. ( I know his arms are tired.)

:D I had the same smile on my face, 9 years ago. :)

That was a great story. Like someone else asked, how many miles were on it? A Viper as a DD for 9 years? I'm honestly jealous. How old is the new owner? He looks like really young. Good luck dealing with the Viper withdrawl! Hope to see you back in a Snake soon

Hi David and all!

My name is Duy Nguyen. I am the new owner of David's Viper. David is one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met. It was a really touching momment right before I drove off his garage. I've felt like I was taking away his son or daughter :( . David, I hope you feel better!

On my side, my love for the Viper is increasing exponentially even though I've been having it for less than 24 hours. I got thumbup's and compliments already. :2tu:

Before the Viper, I have an Infiniti Q45 (will goes to my friend soon) and is an active member of the Nissan/Infiniti Car Owners club (nicoclub.com). I also have a website dedicated to the '97-'01 Q45 (http://fgy33.tripod.com/). My passion for cars is huge and I assure you [David] that the Viper will get 110% of my passion. :usa:

I'm still in California at this moment but will leaving for Houston, TX in a couple hours. See you guys later!

PS: I'm 30. Not that young but I think I'm one the youngest one in here ;) .

Hope you enjoy the car David! My 1st Viper was almost a yellow Gen 1, but I couldnt quite afford it back then. Be ready to be a celebrity :) . As for you being 30, nowhere even closer to being one of the youngest. I'm 25 (bought my Viper at 23) and some of these guys make me feel like an old fart :)

Fair-well to one of the shinest yellow Vipers in SoCal.
Hope another Viper is in your future.
Thanks again from the ViperClub for putting on those great Meguiars events.

Haha i wonder what people say about you owning all those cars. I get enough comments like, he must sell drugs, he's rich, his daddy bought it for him. Hell i've been in the Marines for 6 years, i buy my own stuff. You being only 21 and buying that when you were 19, how in the world did you manage that? Good job either way.

Our relationships with our cars are special. And I'm sure a lot of us have stories. And it must be very painful to see a car that you had so much fun with go. But life goes on. I know when I finally sell my Viper its gonna be very painful. But we all have to do what we have to do. As a lot of you know I have to part with my Viper to expand my auto transport business. So I'll probably have to watch my Viper ride out in the sunset also...
