The Viper is unique in the pantheon of horsepower gods

Cool, never read that.

So when did the coupe get a governor? (Top speed 190 mph - "governed")

Nice write up but they just rehash previous articles. The GenII sounded like the UPS truck, there is no way that can be said about the SRT.

Still many negative are brought up about Vipers that you'll never hear about Ferraris and Porsches.
I always feel that if Dodge put another $15k into the refinements and tacked another $100k to the price tag. These articles would be much more pro Viper.

I think the prices tags can have a lot to do with quality perception. If Vipers sold for $185K, they’d only be driven a few hundred miles a year, for fear of depreciating, and therefore the focus would stay on the power and presents of the Viper and not what some writer thinks the exhausts sounds like.

The interior and reliability of the Ferraris is OK at best, but the fact that they aren't driven much, who cares, and the focus stays on the positives. JMO
