Spark plug wire arc

hello,
I am on my third set of wires. Two mopar sets and now a MSD set. the problem i seem to keep having is arcing from the plug boot to the exhaust heat sheild. what is the problem and/or the solution? thanksin advance..

Old thread I know, but it's the only one related I found.
I am experiencing the same problem on quite every plug.
Have tried two sets of OEM wires and AB's wires as well, no difference.
Any idea how to fix it?
Joseph mentioned that the heat shields can be modified. How? Do you expand them on top?

Get rid of the metal heat shields all together.

AB's wires have the heat wraps around each boot, but even with this, I really don't feel like removing the metal heat shields.
Any other idea?

Sorry to hear your troubles, but it sounds like it's another issue other than the wires. I PMed you a few things you could try. If the wires are not damaged or boots not cracked, then they should not be the cause of that. Check your PM.

I don't think the wires are the culprits. Just something else I need to find out.
