What this effectively did was bump the power on many US products and conversely it was found that many Japanese vehicles had been overstating their HP. The Viper went from 500 to 510 ( whereas the Civic Si which was touted in print at 200 hp, dropped to 197 ), and since the 2003s, 2004s, etc. were listed as 500 their current true reading would be 510 under the corrected rating scale.
