Going to replace my stock radio. The service manual says to remove the dash but
I thought I read a post that said you just had to remove the panel for shifter and radio cover. Has anyone done this and is there anything to watch for. Thanks

its easy, just be careful. the panel is exactly as you describe, its held in place with those metal slot snaps and a little velcro. don't beat on it, just apply even pressure as you pull, snap the top out, then the bottom, then slide it out.

Got the radio out ok. Some confusion about the wiring. The red/white is the hot , the black is the gound. Do I have to do anything with the other wires. The yellow/black,orange, green/red and the pink. The service manual have them going to other things. The new radio has just wiring for amp use or wires that go to the speakers which look like I can delete. Sure could use some help. Thanks

it wouldn't surprise me if those "extra" wires are running to the amps in the trunk. I'm not the radio expert and haven't done this to my '94 yet. someone else should jump in.

good luck.
