2001 GTS, what should an average valve cover / "underhood" temperature be?

We all know 220('ish) is a normal operating WATER temperature.. What I am looking for, is the actual underhood, engine compartment temperature.. Specifically looking for how hot the valve covers get. Under normal, closed hood conditions. Taking into consideration the exhaust is right near by, of course.. Any ideas on this??

150F is normal.
200F is hot.

Check also headers' temperature. It is more interesting ...
Header range from 180F(cruise) to 280F(race)

I have a head temperature sensor. When it reaches 200F It gets really hot under the hood.
You better do something before the engin stops running.

thanks Schulman.. No, nothing like that... My car is fine..

Doing some detailing, and using a product on the valve cover/under the engine compartment, that is good "up to" 350 degrees. I figured it would be fine. But wanted to make sure, it did not get any hotter than that.. I dont have one of those ambient gauges to get a reading myself..
