VIPER COMPETITION COUPE
TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
NUMBER 07 - 3
Date: May 7, 2007
Subject: Engine Oil Cooler Service Tool
Recently, a number of engine oil coolers were found to have cracked joints where the oil cooler hose fitting bosses are joined to the cooler core.A simple tool is in use at the VCC build facility to help prevent twisting these fitting while the hoses are being installed. It is recommended that a similar tool be used when installing the oil cooler hoses on a Comp Coupe when these items are being serviced by the various teams. For your convenience a drawing of the tool is attached to this bulletin. The tool at the build facility is made from scrap mild steel. It can be easily made from aluminum as well.
The tool locks the two oil cooler bosses together while the hose ends are being tightened and prevent the bosses from being twisted during the hose tightening procedure.
A drawing of the tool is attached to this document. For further details contact Irv Zwicker
