My 08 has check engine light but not codes!

The check engine light came on. Car runs fine. Went to Autozone and hooked an OBDII scanner to it and no codes came up. Tried another friends OBDII scanner and no codes come up either. What could cause the check engine light to come on and no code come up in a scanner?

Check your gas cap,make sure its on and tight..

DC the PCM and reset (don't forget the full throttle set). That may work.

I had the same prob on my new 08. Although my gas cap was on tight, they said if you got the edge wet at all it might not seel and that light would come on. Car ran fine, they dried off the cap and put it back on and light went off. Goodluck.

What is the full throttle set?

DC the PCM and reset (don't forget the full throttle set). That may work.

What is the full throttle set?

Teaches the PCM what WOT is.......Turn key on and depress throttle to floor. Turn key off and restart car.

Make sure you are using a scan tool that is compatible with 2008 CAN standards... the older code scanners will not support the Viper PCM.

I would hope "autozone" scanners would have latest software, but there is no way to be sure.

The full throttle reset fixed the issue. No more SES light. Thanks guys!
