Just a quick update in some revised street gas timing table for my 02 GTS. So far, no problems on pump gas, although I added a little more fuel of 2ms pulses. Low/midrange SOTP is certainly there, even on 100 degree days. I also moved the IAT out of the 'open' box, and into the base of the filter so it measures only the air received by the engine (to lessen the retarding of timing based on IAT readings from a 'heat soaked' engine compartment. Take a look at the graph and have fun.

That's good to see. Nicely graphed. Im not running too much differently with W/M and 5lbs of boost. For whatever reason, the stock timing is very conservative, especially 4-5K.

Re: NA VEC Tune

Thanks EllowViper.
To 2001GTS and All.....Here is the detail on my modified ‘advanced’ timing/fueling. Also refer to the updated, attached chart. The chart compares OEM timing to my modified timing. Thank you Sean Roe, OEM values were sourced from Roe Racing’s VECII documentation:headbang:. Subsequent to my original post, I tweaked the timing a little more :omg:, so I attached an updated chart. It is a great NA tune for my purposes, and hopefully others will find it as a reliable setting for more performance. Here are the details of my VEC II settings:

Box Settings: Degrees in loan; % in RPM. I am using the VEC MAP, not the OEM. No particular reason, just happened to be the way I set it up. You can easily set up the same values with the OEM MAP, just set the LOAD tables for WOT, which is essentially no vacuum, or very little. Specifically, set the values in the vacuum tables for the range of -5.00 through 0.00.

IGNITION
Load Table
-5.00 -> 13.00
-2.50 -> 13.00

Load Table – Per ROE VEC II documentation. The -4.00 settings come into play during deceleration and decrease ‘popping’.

I added some WOT fuel since I bumped up timing.
-5.00 -> 1.00ms
