    Default Raffle

I ordered a raffle ticket in the first week of August. I was billed on my credit card on the 19th of August but I never received a ticket.

I don't think it is appropriate that I be billed for a ticket if I never received one. This type of action could lead one to presume that he was charged for something that he never received the benefit of. If I was entered in the raffle, there is no way that I would know it and there is really no way for the VCA to prove that I was in fact entered. If the VCA's order deadline did not allow them time to mail out tickets to purchaser's prior to the drawing, the VCA should have delayed the drawing until that could have been done.

I think a reasonable response is that I be refunded my money. I would like some response please. My email address is [email protected].

If you are in the half-% of mistakes that happen with #2000 tickets, [2-3 lotteries back there were 6-8 not-paid and/or refunded ooopses] you should absolutely get a refund.

JRT/MCVO/VCA has extensive records of every ticket sold, voided, or unsold in this STATE REGULATED lottery. I have EVERY confidence that any billed ticket was entered. JRT staff was DUMPING last-day sales stubs into the huge drum just before the VOI drawing. And they still have all the LOSING tickets from that drum.

If they HAD mailed you the ticket (I got mine in mail on 8/22) you would still have to TRUST that it was in the drum! Some past raffles I got my ticket stubs after the drawing (I have enetered all but 1 raffle)

Your point is valid that the tickets SHOULD be in your hands before the drawing, but "mailing events happen". Tickets mailing BEFORE the drawing is the planned process.
You dont have to possess the ticket to win......

I am 100% confident that a quick mail or call to VCA HQ ( skeleton crew this week) can verify your legitimate ticket # and the fact that you, like me and 1600 other tickets are, well, um.... FAIR LOSERS ! We have to TRUST our staff.........

    Jon:

I appreciate your response and I generally agree with what you said. I also have seen more than a few complaints about the process and responsiveness of the VCA. Granted I know these people are working very hard and were probably overwhelmed preparing for VOI.

However, as a born skeptic, it is difficult to displace the uneasy feeling that you get when you pay $125 for something that you never even get to see or know that you had. I think there is enough money involved with these drawings that the VCA could find a better way to handle these things. Even if it was an email letting people know their ticket number, you would at least feel as if you received something. At this point, I have absolutely nothing indicating that I had a ticket in the drawing other than a charge to my credit card. Furthermore, if this is a state regulated lottery, I would be surprised if taking money without any kind of reciept or ticket doesn't surmount to some kind of violation of state law. Generally, the statutes provide that certain formailities be met.

Finally, I know these are to benefit for the club and I support that as I have by becoming one of the first Venom members. I just think the VCA should do a better job with these types of thing because I think things like this can cast a poor image back on them which they do not deserve.

My tickets were in the 119x's so this was the closest to buying the winning ticket ever.....until of course I win the next raffle.

Whether the tickets arrive I'm sure all the stubs enter the bin.....you'll likely get your losing ticket sometime soon though. (As JonB said, it's state regulated and if there were any inconsistencies, they'd have to do it over again)

The good news is that our odds are damn good when it comes to lottery odds and we do raise money for the club, so consider it a $125 donation and a small downpayment when you win one of the future raffles! Heck, with the 15 or so losing tickets I've bought so far, I know when I win it will still be worth all those losing tickets and I'm not even close to dead yet, so I've got lots of chances to come.

I'm guessing our next raffle car will be a VOI X ACR....and that will be a great car to win too!

    Regards,
    Aaron

JRT staff indeed were at Mach-3 for 20 hrs a day the past couple weeks, and the results showed. The prior raffle probs occurred on top of the simultaneous Venom Launch, VOI announcement, and VCA membership year change. Mistakes can happen, but JRT will be 100% truthful as to your ticket being in the bin.....or not.

If you card was billed, Im sure your ticket was entered... I bought $500 worth of tickets. And like everyone else did (I'm sure) sent my form in only a few days before the deadline date... These folks must have been completely swamped..

After my CC was not charged, I re-faxed the form.. A few days later I got a call advising me this was a "duplicate" order.. A few days later the charge showed up..

As Jon stated, this is a state regulated, audited lottery... Im sure if they charged you. Your ticket was entered..

I have yet to see an official post. It would be awefully nice ... it won't change that the 09 is not coming my way but at least it would give me closure

It was posted a couple days ago in the general Viper forums. Michael Von Quilich of the Nevada Region had his ticket (#1248) drawn as the winner...
