I'll be there. Dusting off the old roadster. I was going to bracket race my Daytona Ram but I'm driving the RT since the club will be there. I'll be in the pits all weekend and at the Cannery party Friday. Can't make dinner Saturday, dance card was full.

Greetings VCA Members :D

We have some exciting news to report.
Our National VCA and Chrysler/SRT are sending Two 2008 Vipers to Las Vegas for Western Zone Rendezvous Attendees to enjoy at the Auto X Course and for level playing field timing to determine the three quickest Auto Crossers

If you have not had a chance to drive a 2008 Viper and experience its power and handling, here's your chance.

Although March 6 (today) is the deadline to register, it is still not too late to join in the fun. The host hotel may be booked, but there are plenty of lodging deals nearby in Vegas.

Let's see more VCA Members participate in what will be a great week-end of fun!

PICS LINK to Western Rendezvous - March 20-22

The awesome pics at the site below will make you feel like you were there....

http://www.kouchicentral.com/viper/09_wzr_3-09.htm

It was a great time to catch up with old friends and connect with new ones that you would recognize from these forums.

Did I see 4 ACRs at this event? Being driven! What AMAZING cars!

The theme of the event became "SMILES". It was overheard in discussions between people and is obvious throughout the pictures in the link at the top of this post.

Smiles possible because of so many people coming together to make this a great event for all.

Dan & Kathy Everts the So Cal President and team leaders handling details from registration to cleanup.

Rich Link, AZ President and Marko R, NV President pitching in.

Western Zone Director Greg Baxter for coordinating details of the event and being the key flagman

Dan Cragin for personally taking care of member's Vipers and allowing them to enjoy the weekend.

Hugh H. for entertaining us with 8 second 1360 time.

Westen Director at Large,James Retych flew in to be part of things.

Past National VCA Vice-Presidents Don Parsons and George Farris were there.

Dave "Big Brakes" http://www.davesbigbrakes.com/ for showing up a day early with a hand drawn auto-x sketch and setting it up into something that could work for the group (with a fast front straight run into a TIGHT ~110 degree turn had more comments about how amazing the Viper Brakes are than I have ever heard before. It could have been a commercial for Dodge - or putting the new brakes on an older Viper). and then Dave was a run group leader the next day.

Your VCA National Leadership for dedicating time and resources to make this event happen and be a great time for members.

Plus people and that were helping out in every way possible that I do not want to overlook and mention for the reason that they are part of the success of this event.

And,

remember that link at the top of the post? Some guy named Lance, takes all those photos, personalizes the speical gift bags, custom makes awards, and STILL has the energy to enjoy the event and comes away with a SMILE like everyone else did! even me

Thanks for the link Marv and thanks for all your work in helping to make this a great event!!! Having the SRT cars was awesome! Cant wait to do it again. and a HUGE thanks to Dan and Cathy, Lance, Dave, and all the sponsors:2tu: this was one of the best events I've been too.

after looking through all the pics I noticed that Lance got our names mixed up but thats not bad for meeting us the first time, goodness knows I am aweful at names. BTW all the painters tape was provided by us, we love seeing everyone race their Vipers and didn't want any getting messed up by rocks:drive: :2tu: And for anyone counting there are at least three photos my back pockets :rolaugh: whats up Lance?:D

Definitely check my website for all the pictures.

Marv is right....SMILES SMILES SMILES !!!!

This was an awesome event that I know took a ton of work and planning. A HUGE Thank You ! to all who worked on this event as well as all our great sponsors that support our club!

The So Cal Club is so lucky to have Dan and Cathy Everts as club President. They do not let a single detail slip by without meticulous attention. This makes for the most organized event you can possibly imagine.

Thanks again to all involved !
It was a pleasure meeting so many from the other clubs as well. I hope to see you all soon!

Lance

Hey Jeff,
Those are basically all the pictures I have. I checked my entire download and then realized that while you were on track, so was I. I was leading one of the other green groups. So unfortunately I don't have any pictures of you and you car on the track. Sorry about that.

This is the best I got:

Just for the record we STILL have snow on the highways in western Canada April17th...!!

Next time the western zone rendezvous is planned it would be nice to time it when ALL of the western zone members can attend...several of us would have made the trip if it was just a bit later in the year. I am willing to help plan it next time.

No snow on the road here, but there was a bit of snow on cars this last Monday. Maybe a Western Zone rendevous that was a bit more centrally located? Instead of a 3k+ mile round trip for some? Vegas is, well, Vegas. But, it is not the only city on the west coast that has a track. As I recall, there was a VOI in Monterey, ..., and JonB is in Portland(ish):D. Maybe pick up a few parts/tires/doo-dads on the way?:dunno:

If it makes you feel any better it snowed in Vegas on Tuesday. You would not want a zone event any later in the year in Vegas, too damn hot. Its hitting the 90s already this week. Snow on Tuesday, 90 on Saturday :crazy2:.
I would love to see an event in Portland area.
