Went to the drag strip today hoping to reach 11's. So close but for some reason I cant get there. Once I shift from 1st into 2nd I get wheel hop no matter what I do. I am on pilot sport run flats, launching from idle.

60ft...... 1.93
1/8....... 7.93 @ 93.93
1000'..... 10.19
1/4....... 12.09 @ 119.66

Any advice?

Nothing wrong with 12.0 sec. I turn the same thing its all about driving correctly. your 60' time could improve 1.93 isn't that good. Tires are a major player I run MT drag Radials with 12 lbs This is a pretty good tire but it is a radial and not a real drag tire with softer sidewalls that wrinkle at launch. I am running 3:73 gears so that in itself I think is holding me back some as the torque is tremendous at the line. Wheel spin occurs but no wheel hop. Also shifting quicker and keeping the throttle up will make a big difference. I question Viper times under 12 seconds with stock run flat tires. I personally don't think it's possible. The tires are just to hard. Just my opinion here.

Mopar days at Infineon Raceway June 6 2009 was a great day for drag racing. There had to be about 250 mopars from roadrunners to blown dragsters. One of the best things about this annual event is how close you can get to the starting line to watch and photo the cars and rails. The weather was great the morning was very cool and the afternoon got up to about 72 degrees. Here was my best time finally breaking the 12.0 that has evaded me for too long. I lowered my tire pressure in my MT drag tires to 12 lbs. and was determined to get there. here was my time.

The run flats are from 07. I was running 20 psi in the rear. Also I am shifting right at redline, just before the rev limiter.

What would be a good tire for autocross and drag racing?

I like the MT drag radial better than any run flat or Ps2 for drag racing. Just my thought. 12 Psi is the way to get them to bite hard. Auto cross I really have no clue but I run the the PS2 when not drag racing. I like this tire and it's ride is much smoother than the fun flats hard sidewalls.

2005, 3.55 gears, has K&N intake, RT High Flow cats, Corsa Exhaust. Also previous owner also said that it has a Mopar computer. I dont know how to check to see if it actual does. Engine power would be the 500 stock plus what ever the mods above add. Track is around 700ft above sea level and temp was around 85 degrees

The car feels really strong at the low end, but just doesnt feel like it screams like it should in the upper RPM's. Im going to clean the filters, change the oil, change the clutch fluid and putting some new tires on it next week and see what it will do again.

Try new plugs and wires also. Xmetal throttle body gives a bit more on the top end. I think those gears are just right. I run 3.73 rolling on MT drag radials with 12 lbs. I don't run the RT cats to loud. You might give Dan a Call at
DC performance he can give you some better advice and tune up the ECU also. it will pick up about 15 more HP. As for the rest of the Hp gains that Corsa and K&N advertise. You gain some but not the total of the two. When I spoke to Jon B he highly recommended plugs and wires so you might look at that to start with.

well I had race two days ago which the best I had was 12.09 @ 120 weather was 90degrees out with 75% hummidity. Best I ever had was a few months ago with cooler weather 11.68 @ 123. Weather is a big factor in my case.

Try shifting a little sooner. 5,800RPM or even 5,500RPM. It's not always best to shift at redline. I'd even try shifting at 5,300RPM.

Hey frog..I drag raced my 99 rt10 and my 2003 srt10...In the gen2's you can short shift at 5500 and still get some great times..Weather you shift at 5500 rpm's or 5900 rpm's you'll still trapp in the 116-118 range in normal conditions...

But in a SRT10 if you shift at anything under 5650 rpm's in the gears you'll trapp a 114-116 in normal conditions...Hold out to 5800 PLUS rpm's and you'll hit 118-120 mph in normal conditions...

Not nearly as much room for error in the srt10's as the gen2's

Running 11.7's 123mph with my ported manifold. I think this was a big improvement but, yet to fully test. Ran Monday at Infineon.
