Buddy of mine with a C6Z06 wants to see if he can get his hands on some sort of thin thermal insulation that he was pretty sure the newer vipers had (not sure if my 99 has it). He seemed to recall something along the lines of balsa wood, foil, and some sort of composite material. I was hoping someone on here might be able to put him on the correct path to order some of this insulation.

Thanks in advance.

Your '99 probably doesn't have it. My '02 had some sort of thin asphalt mat, but only on the driver's side of the transmission tunnel, which I replaced with Second Skin Damplifier. Did a lot for reducing noise, but not much for the heat.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like my bud is gonna try ordering the Koolmat as he was worried more about heat than noise. Seems his tranny tunnel was burning his leg, haha.
