Hole in Heat Shield???

As I was attempting to get my old Cat off my screwdriver slipped and tore a hole about the size of a silver dollar in th heat shield that is against the car frame. I can see the white fibers inside now. Is this an issue? How can I fix? Thanks.

True. If it bothers you, get some muffler cement and patch it.

Muffler cement. Got some! I remember the old days when that was a staple along with the muffler tape. Thanks guys.
