Temp Sensor/ Temp gauge problem

My temp gauge never moves from cool, I replaced the sensor and that did not resolve the problem, I tested the 4 wires on the plug for the sensor and 2 of them had voltage 5 volts and 12 volts, the other 2 wires im not sure what those are for. Any ideas of what else I should try? Thanks for your help.

Do you have the wiring diagram or even better, the set of factory manuals?

Do you have any techs in your area? When my car seemed to run abnormally hot, the guys at A.R.T. hooked up a computer to the PCM to check for discrepancy between the PCM and gauge and discovered the PCM was sending the right signal but the gauge didn't quite get it. It was within 10˚-20˚ at any time, but it read hotter. They replaced the sensor and sending unit and narrowed it down to the gauge or wiring after checking the PCM.

I would get the 4 book manual set if you're gonna wrench on your car.
