What do you mean "sway"? My Gen 3 will "dance" a little if I'm on the brakes hard. I believe this is from weight transfer to the front which lightens up the rear end.

if you want her to feal more stable than you'll have to go with alittle toe-IN on your front alignment. Toe-OUT makes a car wander alittle during hard braking, and this also happens alittle with 0-Toe since the braking force causes bushings to deflect giving alittle toe-out that will not show on an alignment rack.

do you know your alignment specs?

Does any feel their car sway when stoping from 110 mph? 2001 GTS

Anyone? "Normal" braking? "Threshold" braking?

Folks with unbalanced tire pressures do.

Folks with a leaking shock do.

Folks with a bad caliper do.

Folks with a bad alignment might.

Folks with the 998-999 recall not performed might.

my '01 is very 'planted' going from 145mph to a hard stop at the track.

stock it wasn't, but I changed many of the things JonB mentions above, tires, pressure, shocks, alignment

Good call! Had a leaky shock once that did the same thing when I braked hard.

Yeah, mine as stock was not so planted and did a little dance under hard braking, but since suspension, brakes n rotors, and new wheels and tires, PLANTED from any speed. :2tu:

From 90mph the other day when I gave it a little extra on the brakes, but not too hard she swayed side to side slightly. Was the first time I had felt it.

What the others said. Uneven braking caused by bad pads or rotors will do it. Warped rotors can also cause that sway but is easier to diagnose because you will feel the brake pedal modulate. Also check your sway bar mountings for torque.

When I bought my 2002 FE, It was a scary thing to brake while going over 65mph. My two prevoius Vipers never gave me that feeling. After a four wheel alignment by Tom Sessions the car was solid as a rock. The stock alignment was horrible. Adding Eibach springs made a wonderful improvement also.

I've been bothered by the feeling that my rear is wagging during repeated braking from very high speeds. It's consistent. I just make sure the front wheels are pointed straight and nothing bad has happened yet. I'd say it was from 120 and up. I think this is happening at speeds where a wing and splitter would make a difference.

What's the recommended update on shocks and settings then?
